Scholarships and grants help make a CCBC education even more accessible and affordable. These awards typically don’t need to be repaid and are available to students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Students may be eligible for three types of scholarships and grants: Federal aid, Maryland state aid and CCBC scholarships and grants—each with its own eligibility criteria and application process. Students may apply for scholarships and grants after they are enrolled in classes at CCBC.
Available to undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need and have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree. Award amounts vary annually and depend on enrollment status and EFC (Expected Family Contribution).
Awarded to eligible undergraduate students with exceptional financial need and with the lowest Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Students receiving Federal Pell Grants receive priority for FSEOG awards, which are administered by CCBC's Financial Aid Office and are considered campus-based funding.
The Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants provides assistance to college or career school students whose parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Most aid begins with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). As a first step, visit FAFSA.gov to submit the FAFSA using CCBC's school code 002063.
The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), through its Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), helps Maryland residents access and complete higher education. OSFA offers a variety of scholarships and grants based on financial need, academic achievement, special talents or chosen career paths.
This program awards students who are disabled members of the U.S. Armed Forces or who have a spouse or parent who became permanently disabled or died while serving in the Armed Forces. Application deadline is July 15.
The Conroy Scholarship application is now an online NextGen form. To apply, students log in with their CCBC username and password.
Educational Assistance Grant
Awarded to full-time undergraduates who demonstrate financial need. Awards range from $400 to $3,000 per year.
Guaranteed Access Grant
A need-based award that provides financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses. Awards range from $400 to $18,000 per year.
The Maryland Senatorial and State Delegate scholarships offer assistance for both full-time and part-time students through their state senators and local delegates.
With the Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship, college-ready, recent high school graduates can attend CCBC debt-free! As a “last dollar in" scholarships, this scholarship covers tuition and mandatory fees for eligible students after applying all other financial awards—such as Pell grants, state aid and scholarships,
The Part-Time Grant is awarded to Maryland residents who are degree-seeking undergraduates enrolled in at least six (but no more than 11) credits per semester. Awards are made based on the availability of state funds and are granted throughout each academic year.
The Workforce Development Sequence scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students enrolling in an approved non-credited certificate program leading to apprenticeships, employment, licensure or job skill enhancement at a community college.
The Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant (WSSAG) program is for students who plan to work in a specific career or occupational programs upon graduation. Eligible fields include: child care, human services, teaching, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, social work and public service.
Thanks to the generosity of community donors, CCBC offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities for new and current students. Scholarships may be need-based, merit-based or program-specific.
